Building Future Industry Leaders
The UConn MEM major is a critical pathway to the development of future leaders in manufacturing in the state of Connecticut, as well as in the global economy. Manufacturing is the basis of a strong economy and our partnerships with industry are the backbone of a strong curriculum to prepare our students to contribute to this economy in a meaningful way.
Industry leaders partner with MEM in a variety of ways that contribute to the preparation of our students for the workforce. There are a variety of established ways businesses can get involved, or we would be happy to discuss with you other ideas and contributions you would like to consider.
- Senior Design Sponsorship
- Industry Advisory Board
- Scholarship Program
- Speak at an MEM Society meeting
- Guest Lecture for a Course
- Mentor a Student
- Recruit MEM Students for Internships
- Recruit MEM Graduates for Career Opportunities
If you are interested in recruiting our students, partnering with us in some way, sponsoring a Senior Design team project, or anything else, please reach out to the program coordinator and she will connect you with the right people.
Senior Design Program
Senior Design is a capstone course during which students work on teams with businesses, manufacturers and other organizations to complete a project given by the sponsor.
Our Advisory Board members serve the MEM major by offering valuable insights into emerging trends in manufacturing and industry in Connecticut as well as recommendations on how we can improve the major.
